Hi I'm new to this board. I don't have to lose 100 pounds but it is close enough. I've been reading some of the messages on here and everyone sounds really friendly. Today I started a new diet. I am following the old weight watchers plan (freedom plan). A few years ago I did the plan and I lost 25 pounds. I really want to lose the weight for me this time. My mother recently found out she is diabetic. I look at her and think is this my future? I did very well today I even had a smore. (normally I would eat several). Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Hopefully I will talk to you all soon.

Diabetes runs in my family as well (my Mom was just diagnosed last year) so I can completely understand where you're coming from.
The vast majority of people here are wonderful and very supportive - I often come here when I'm feeling uninspired to workout and read posts from the celebration area... to hear about other people's success helps to push me.
Anytime you need to rant or just chat I'll keep my eye out for you!
Cheers
Lisa
Hi there Sandy and welcome to the boards!
Welcome to the board! We're in the midst of a rough patch here, but it will get better soon. There are lots of wonderful ladies here and they have been such a support to me. I hope to see more of you around the board!

A belated welcome to you! I think it's great that you are continuing your journey on the road to better health. Diabetes is a very serious disease, and the complications of it can be tragic if it is not controlled. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes not so long ago myself. Thankfully, my blood sugar is finally under control. I know that my eating habits are a little better, but I also know that there is a lot of room for improvement in that area. I'm starting my healthy eating program again...tomorrow, September 1. Hopefully, I will be more determined to stick with it. I truly believe that regular exercise has helped to improve my blood sugar levels tremendously. I try to exercise at least once a day, and I feel so much better when I do. Oops! I didn't mean to write a book, LOL. Welcome again, Sandy! ***Hugs***
