I buy a combo of pre-cut and whole, always fresh. I even use whole fresh apples for my apple pie! Not sure what I'd do with frozen fruits. Smoothies or something?
Same goes for veggies btw. Combo of pre-cut/sliced and whole.
The only real good fruits right now in TN are apples, strawberries, and peaches b/c the harvest starts in September...so I buy those whole and cut them myself. The only real big thing that sucks is cutting strawberies--they stain like a mofo!
I just think they taste better when you buy them from a farmers market and you cut it yourself.(Walmart is an evil corporation--I'm sorry--i used to work there and it is)
I will buy fresh seasonal stuff, mostly Braeburn apples. I am hopelessly addicted to Mangoes, which I was introduced to when I went to Barbados for three weeks in '91.
Watermelon I love, but cutting it up is a pain in the a$$.
Veggies I buy frozen sometimes, unless I KNOW I will use them soon. I just rerad theat the average American wastes $$ and throws away $100 worth of fresh veggies a year because they spoli before use.
Whole, unless it's something like watermelon and it's a good deal.I don't do melons or such,so mostly everything I buy is whole...think the only other fruit that I have seen cut is pineapple, and while I like fresh, for the price I do better with canned(in it's own juices Forte,BTW o.O).
