OT: Update on Philamina

First of all, thank you all so very much for all of your positive thoughts!
Morning Update:
I found out the whole story. She is only 4 years old. Her brother, who is about 8, was shooting a kids' bow and arrow, and was using a practice arrow that has a more blunt tip. She walked in front of him as he shot. Her mom was there and pulled the arrow out. They loaded her in the van and took her to the hospital without bothering with an ambulance. In rural areas like they live in, it can take longer for the ambulance to get there than what you can make to town in. The arrow went in right above her ear and went about in inch into her skull. There were bone fragments in her brain as well. She made it through surgery last night and was in stable condition this morning. They expect her to eventually make a full recovery! It will be a very long recovery.

Afternoon Update:
She went back to surgery a little while ago. Her brain was swelling and they had to relieve pressure. They are keeping her in a drug-induced coma, but her brain still began to swell. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and the family. Also, she is the youngest of 13 kids, and her older brother's little boy who is about 3 went into the hospital last night. He is very sick, dehydrated, and they are doing lots of tests including spinal tap, so if you could just keep the whole family in your thoughts, my friend Lea would appreciate it. Her aunt and uncle have 1 child in the hospital and 1 grandchild in the hospital, very, very hard on everyone.
