Is anyone watching the Republican Convention? What are your thoughts on Democrat Sen. Zell Miller talking on behalf of Bush????

Personally, not fancying Kerry in the least, I loved it. I wouldn't describe myself as either left or right wing, but I will say that I plan to vote Republican this year, being my first voting year ever(I'm 19), and I was extremely happy that Sen. Miller spoke for Bush, and I think that what he said really moved me.

What are your thoughts?

I voted for Nader last time around; he was a third party candidate and didn't do too bad. This time, it's gotta be Kerry. The sooner Dubya can be stopped from doing any more damage, the better.

I do agree with a previous poster that you'll get a better response if you go to the political sections of the web. I'm sure that the arguing is heavy and will only get heavier; just remember to wear your flame-proof workout clothing!

Zell is a democrat in name only; his entire speech was about how much he hates Kerry, the democratic leadership, and everyone else who disagrees with him. That was one of the most divisive, antagonistic speeches that speaks to the worst in people I've heard in... hmm, can't remember how long. Did you see him on the MSNBC interview? It was hysterial- in a bad way. He ranted that he wished he could challenge the news correspondent to a duel.

And Cheney, that's one hate-filled guy. You'd think Kerry shot his dog.

I know there are debate boards but that is why I posted the subject as OT(off topic) b/c I wanted to hear what my "friends" thought, and not everyone in here GOES to the debate boards.

Oh boy did Bush have a great speach or what? I loved when that one guy was holding up a pair of flip-flops with "Kerry" written on them LOL

I wasn't able to catch any of the convention coverage until tonight. Not that it matters--I'm solidly in the Republican camp.

I was reminded of why I voted for him in 2000, and it reaffirmed why I will vote for him in November. The first half was meh, but the second half was great. He clearly outlined why he should be reelected and did so in a way that conveyed his passion and commitment to the country and his beliefs.

Overall, B/B+.

My husband, who hates politics, was truley impressed with the Presidents speech last night. I was amazed that he sat there and watched it and said something good about it. But we are Libertarian.. If there is no one on the ballot who is Libertarian, my vote will go for Bush. LIMIT GOV'T NOT FREEDOM.....vote Libertarian :-) Stephanie
