Im using a celebration icon because I think it something to celebrate. I am, once more, trying to quit smoking. I have been giving myself a pep talk all morning long while I was out running errands. I kept thinking "Ok, you only have like half a pack left and then your done." Well I got to Starbucks and decided on the spur of the moment to just throw the rest of my cigarettes out. I threw them right into the trash can! Then I stood in Starbucks, my heart started palpitating and I thought "I can NOT believe you just did that...." LOL

So please think of me and my family in the next few days. The last times I have tried to quit, I turned into meanie mom/wife....I just wasnt myself. Im not gonna tell my husband and see how long it takes for him to notice too lol Im not gonna say that I will be successful this time but I sure feel like Im gonna be :)

Shawna,

I am so proud of you for taking such a big step. Like so many other things in your life you will no doubt be successful. Don't let little roadbumps slow you down...put your foot on the pedal of life and full speed ahead.

You can do this. Just don't think it will happen over night. Quitting smoking was one of the hardest things I ever did. Last June was 21 years. I started when I was 13 and quit when I was 31. BUT I didn't do it cold turkey. Every now and then I would smoke or take a drag off of someone's cig.( usually after a drink!!) I'd say now I have been really smoke free about 15 of the 21 years. Hang in there Shawna, you can do it. :-)Stephanie

Shawna darlin'...I quit a year ago and haven't looked back!

It's going to be tough and your going to be grouchie but you can do it! When you wake up in the morning and you no longer have that awful taste in your mouth you will realize why you did it. When you can exercise for a full hour without hacking you'll celebrate overcoming that addiction.

The only tips I can offer is to avoid being around smokers and smoke for at least a week at first, and then, when you are around it you'll hate the smell.

Good luck hon...you cn do it.

Cheers

Woohoo! Well I kept telling myself that I was gonna wait on Tina to quit or Rely...so that I could have a buddy. Fortunately, Im finding (so far) that I am capable to of quitting on my own :) This is the longest I have gone without a cigarette since Ike was born.

Let me know how you are doing Sara ;)
