Snack attack! Help!

I know this topic has come up many times before, but right now I'm really trying to work on snacks. They are my downfall. I'm in search of snacks that are 1. quick to prepare/eat and some that are portable 2. healthy 3. substantial enough to tide over (i.e., none of that crap about eating one stalk of celery drinking a v8). I want to have a list of snacks that are good so that I will remember to buy the stuff for them and have it on hand. When I'm starving and the baby's crying and a healthy snack isn't evident, disaster is impending.

So, right now here are the snacks that I am using.

1. Yogurt (light) w/wheat germ

2. Celery w/peanut butter

3. Cottage cheese (lowfat) w/fruit

4. Low fat granola bar (maybe w/light yogurt if really hungry)

5. Edamame (steamed soybeans-very yummy)

6. Light microwave popcorn

7. String cheese + fruit

What else do you guys like? I'm interested in things with a little bit of protein if possible (but I don't eat red meat). I'd love to get some new ideas to throw into regular rotation.

I like pretzels and grapes. They are both finger foods....but beware the serving size because I find with pretzels, its easy to eat more than you planned.

I didn't know that laughing cow made light cheese! What an exciting discovery. I love that stuff.

I have not had any problems finding the Light cheese in Canada, however.

This is really good!! Take low-Fat cottage cheese and put into the blender adding a bit of sugar (or splenda) and a bit of vanilla. Blend it all up, till its creamy. You can use it as a dip for fruit. You can also put some on a bagel and top it off with light jelly and put it under the broiler for a few mintues. Honestly...It's WONDERFUL!!! And very healthy! You would NEVER know it was cottage cheese!! YUMMY!!!

I like to snack on high-fiber cereal. I like the Kashi cereals, they're very healthy and no trans fats. I also snack on soy nuts sometimes. Very high in protein. Oh, and pita with hummas makes a good snack. I found some sun dried tomato hummas that's delicious!
