Nursing exam tomorrow!!! AHHH!!

Oh, man, I'm nervous! I've been waiting for this day for a LONG time, and it's almost here! And the scariest part is, I don't feel prepared. I think I probably could have studied day and night, 27/7 for the last month and still not feel prepared! I haven't, mind you, but I have done some studying. I just don't know if I've studied enough, studied the right stuff! No one knows what the breakdown of the exam is going to be, I think that's the idea, but it's really hard to take everything you learned in a 2 year program and prepare for a huge comprehensive exam like this one. This exam is the provincial one that I need to be licensed to work as a nurse in Canada. I have heard that it is not as hard as the one I had to take to graduate, but that doesn't ease my jitters much. A lot of it is going to be application, meaning stuff I've done in the clinical setting, so that does ease my mind a little bit. I know that I know my stuff! I bought the prep guide and did the CD ROM mock exam several times, and I did well on it. But now that I've done it so many times, I know all the answers, so it's hard to gauge if I'm really ready or if I'm just good at memorizing the questions I've answered over and over LOL!!

I'm going to need some prayers and positive energy sent my way, please! I write the exam at 8:00 am tomorrow morning, in Toronto, and I'm going to have to drive 2 hours in the morning to get there... it's going to be a LOOOOONG day!! Thankfully I'll be meeting some friends who are just as nervous as I am on the way there, so I'll only be driving for an hour and then we'll car pool from there. I think I'm going to go out for a nice walk in the sunshine right now, and then go over my CD ROM again! Thanks for letting me vent here!! ~Sabrina

(((((Sabrina))))))

Girl, I know your pain! But trust me, you will do just fine! I had to take a national exam for my Vet Tech license. And ya ya, I know everyone says it's not the same, but I believe it is similar. Beings that I was in nursing school for 2 and a half years, (before transfering Universities and what credits I could for a zoology major), I'm almost positive they are rather similar. The only real difference is we don't have quite as many drug names to remember, and we have about 10-12 species to memorize (all their different little diseases and normal TPR's and stuff) vs just humans. My test was 400 questions and took about 1-1/2 hours to take. Let me tell ya, I was HORRIBLY nervous. I worked at an emergency vet hospital all through school, and I was/am a good student, so I knew that I really did know the stuff, but that doesn't really seem to matter when you're hours away from taking the thing. But trust me, it comes back to you. It's there. It's all lodged somewhere in your brain and you just know it! You'll be fine. You'll do wonderfully! I have faith in you, and you should have faith in yourself as well.

Good Luck my thoughts are with you,

Critter
