Clubbing?

I mentioned to Shawna something about clubbing, and that got me thinking. Do you guys feel enough confidence to go out and shake it on a dance floor being 100+? If so, what do you usually wear to a club?

Lurkers I want your answers too.

The last time I was at a club, 4 years ago, I wore running shoes and embroidered khakis. Then I got thrown out of the club because I threw a broken beer bottle at someone (on purpose)

LOL sounds like fun

I usually get ALL hot for a club. I wear black pants or a black skirt(usually) and a revealing top, and some tall black shoes, and I love body glitter and a lot of make-up...and I always do my hair up so it's outa my way...I usually do something like, lots of pins and/or clips and make it look cute...and girl, I dance when I go out. I know a lot of BBWs like, go to clubs and stand around, and even just small girls do that, I don't care if I have a man to dance with or not, I dance! lol

Oh ya girl, I dance! Maybe I should rephrase that...I try to dance. Get enough Gin and tonic in me and I'll dance even more. I used to feel self-concious when I would go out and dance, but the club I usually attend is actually a gay club that I go to with my friend Kyle and some of my other classmates. It's really fun because I already have a hubby, 1) so I'm not looking to attract men anyway, 2) the whole place is really relaxed and "be yourself", 3) gay guys can dance, and they'll dance with you because...4) gay guys don't care what we (girls) look like, they just wanna dance, have fun, and hit on my buddy Kyle! It's fun! Hmmm...maybe I'll see if Kyle's doin' anything this weekend... ;o)

I haven't gone clubbing since college, which was years ago. DH claims he can't dance, but if I can get him to dance now and then as long as he has lose pants on for the slow body to body dances (if you know what I mean)! ;o) LOL

There aren't any clubs here that are BBW supportive. At this point in my life, I'd only go to a club that is BBW friendly, which we may have to do on our next trip to Minneapolis. All the clubs here are full of college students, one too many with small minds at this point in their lives. If someone made the wrong remark to me, DH would probably end up in a fight because he is very protective of me.

College people don't say anything to me. I am almost 20 and I am a BBW and I guess I just don't give a crap, Im usually too "spirited" by the time I get to a club to care what anyone has to say, I just have fun--screw everyone else...all I see is me and my man..

I love to dance so when I go out there is usually dancing involved (even if we aren't at a club...opps). But honestly, at first I can be a bit self conscious but after the first couple songs who the hell cares. I'm there with my friends to have fun so that's all that matters. And frankly, speaking as a single woman, when you give in to the music and not care what others think...that's when men notice you, regardless of size. People know when you are uncomfortable in your body...so love yourself and just move.

When I was in college I had the same attitude as you do. Now that I am married, and weigh about 60 more pound than I did in college, I don't have the confidence to ignore the looks or the jokes.

I'm glad you have such a great attitude. I wish I could be more confident about going out and dancing but I've had a few too many bad experiences where we live. We have 3 major Universities, and very few night clubs here are geared for the more mature groups. I'm only 29, but I don't feel like I'm in the 20-something crowd anymore.

Please don't take any of my posts like I am steroetyping ALL college kids. I'm just saying in my experience at the clubs I have dealt with too many immature people that I've seen in my college classes and I really don't feel like dealing with that again.

Maybe once I'm more comfortable with my body I will have your attitude. For now, both hubby and I enjoy dancing at weddings or at home! However, we do have some friends in Minnepolis that know of the BBW clubs where I would be more comfortable for now.

Keep dancing and someday I will join you! ;o)

Girl, trust me! I know how ppl my age are when it comes to size...very immature! But I'm just saying that I don't usually care what anyone says...I am me, and I am not going to apologize for it.

Girl, come on over, we'll go out! I'll show ya! lol You'll be comin out all snappy and sassy and havin my attitude. lol
