I mentioned to Shawna something about clubbing, and that got me thinking. Do you guys feel enough confidence to go out and shake it on a dance floor being 100+? If so, what do you usually wear to a club?

Lurkers I want your answers too.

Oh yeah! We go clubbin just about every wkend. Usually to Mexican clubs, since b/f is Mexican. For some reason the Mexican men LOVE big women. And most of the women in the hispanic clubs are big so I fit right in and actually feel thinner next to some of them.

So I wear low cut shirts b/c I'm not deprived in the chest dept (usually in black...it seems to hide more). And hip huggin flared jeans (which make my butt look bigger...it's currently non existant)w/ usually my black boots. On occassion I'll wear a skirt since b/f loves when I wear skirts.

The plus side - with salsa dancing being such a fast paced dance, I sweat like I've run a marathon and can imagine I burn quite a bit of calories! : )

We go to the spanish gay club too. Which does seem more fun, b/c the guys aren't competing with each other for the girls and you can let loose w/o being pawed and pounced on.

Sara, do you guys ever go to the spanish clubs?

We used to go to salsa clubs a lot, but there aren't any where he lives now. He used to live in Carbondale, Il and there seemed to be quite a few events around there, but now he lives in a tiny Kentucky hick town so lol We want to though, I am just not as confident with Salsa b/c he is a good dancer, and I am used to like hip hop and stuff, but I still try lol...i just kinda look funny

Why do they like bigger girls anyways(not that I'm complaining)? Actually, my b/f usually dates slimmer girls, but I guess I am the exception! =)

LOL I know what you mean. I suck at Salsa..but I just follow my b/f and make a fool of myself. But after 2 or 3 shots of tequilla I really don't care!!

I've asked that question myself. Maybe they think cuz we're big we know how to cook. (boy was my b/f in for a shock there!) I think it's more the big boobs and butt they like though! Either way I don't care. : )

I've noticed though that alot of the couples I see, the men are so short and skinny. The women are usually tall and heavy...Go figure!

I was alone for 8 yrs after my dd's father left b/c he told me no one wants a "fat chick" and stupid me believed him. Then when I found my b/f he was heaven sent. He didn't care what I looked like, he fell in love with me as is! I was even at my all time high weight when we met. And he is skinny! He helps me with the dieting and would like to see me thin, but he's also ok with who I am right now. Of course he loves ALL women so he says!!

Yeah I know! All my ex's that are Mexican are short and skinny...I used to be into that b/c I was like "They are so cute!" But my b/f now is like, 5'11' and like, 240 lbs, lol, he used to be a football player so...I am into that now, I dunno if I'd ever go back into the short thing, I mean, my ex before Roger was SMALL so lol

I feel so dumb out there...dancing like trying to follow all those other big white g/f chicks who thought they knew what they were doing....but I still felt stupid. Actually, I do agree that it MUST be the boobage they like. LOL< I was at the mall on Sat. and this one guy(kinda reminded me of my b/f) was with this fat white chick, but she wasn't realy cute, and he saw me and was like checkin me out! lol, with his g/f there! If I didn't like the attention so much, I woulda been like "You jerk!" but I liked the attention so lol

They also really like long hair...do you ever notice that? Roger does NOT want me to EVER cut my hair lol

And the cooking thing--one thing he always wanted me to do was learn to make tortillas b/c he said no one he was with ever cared enough to learn, but his mom always works all the time so I never had a chance to learn, so I looked up a recipe and made him some for Valentine's day, and he was sooooooo happy. He even called Mama and was like "She made me tortillas!!!!" lol

Sara

Ahh yes, My b/f also told me they like long hair. I had long hair but recently cut it all off, kind of an accident! I want my long hair back!!

My b/f is just slightly shorter than me, definately thinner than me. I think he weighs maybe 145...but I noticed he's gaining. I told him won't it be funny when I'm skinny and YOU'RE fat. It's cool that we can joke about it.

You'll have to give me your recipe for the tortillas. He would absolutely die if I made them for him. He always complains that the store bought tortillas are nothing like what mama makes back in Mexico. Pretty please!! : )

My email is pw3us@yahoo.com if you want. I could use a friend who knows what I go thru! They should make a support group....WOMEN WHO DATE MEXICAN MEN. hahaha

LOL I think that is a definately something we should make--a support group LOL

I will send you that recipe, but I got it offa allrecipes.com! Roger ALWAYS complains about "store bought" and mama's tortillas are better, blah blah, girl I know I know! My mom heated up some store-bought for him as a joke one time at dinner, and he ate like one, and I was like "What's wrong?" He's like "Nothin.." and later he told me he can't enjoy his food right w/ store-bought tortillas. lol, mama's boy i swear...

I'll email you that right now!

You might have survived Ivan, but you won't survive Sarah w/comments like that! Dancing is great exercise, no matter where you do it. You should know that. And going to clubs and having fun is great for weight loss, too. Who wants to do something that's boring to do. Dance, have fun, lose weight.....what's wrong w/that?

Your comment was snotty and uncalled for. A real low-class comment.

Well, who exactly are you? survivor hurricane or survived ivan? Just becasue a post is deleted doesn't mean ;you change names, unless your entire profile was deleted.

Since y ou have your panties in a wad about everything here, I won't mind telling hyou that clubbing does not equate to hooking. That is an incredibly immature thing to say. You get all riled up when people "attack you" which they didn't, and then you turn around and attack them.

Calling us "fat girls" as you did in another post is also a trashy, low class thing to do.

If you need support or help in dealing w/Ivan, call the Red Cross. They have many counselors available to help victims. This is weight loss support.
