Clubbing?

I mentioned to Shawna something about clubbing, and that got me thinking. Do you guys feel enough confidence to go out and shake it on a dance floor being 100+? If so, what do you usually wear to a club?

Lurkers I want your answers too.

You can't call someone low class and expect to get away with it. It is rude and disrespectful.

All you had to do was say "no, I don't go clubbing". You didn't have to add the judgement of "low class" to your post.

No one attacked you because you are from Florida or because you survived a hurricane. People responded how they did because you were rude. They responded because you passed judgement without knowledge. They responded because you were disrespectful. They responded because you were non-supportive.

I didn't realize that surviving a hurricane granted one the right to say whatever mean thing they pleased. I suppose you learn something new every day.

Clubbing is defined as dancing at a bar or club. It does not involve sex, drugs and doesn't need to involve alcohol. People have been clubbing for years but the word "clubbing" is fairly recent. Clubbing is just another word for dancing which is what you say you do. Does that mean you are calling yourself low class?

Just so we're all clear on what "clubbing" is:

Definition: a spot that is open late at night and that provides entertainment (as singers or dancers) as well as dancing and food and drink; "don't expect a good meal at a cabaret"; "the gossip columnist got his information by visiting nightclubs every night"; "he played the drums at a jazz club"

a building occupied by a club; "the clubhouse needed a new roof"

a formal association of people with similar interests; "he joined a golf club"; "they formed a small lunch society"; "men from the fraternal order will staff the soup kitchen today"

unite with a common purpose; "The two men clubbed together"

Sure is low class to go to a place to have food, drink and entertainment, where you can get together with friends to dance and make merry, in a place called a club. Yeap.

Sure hope you don't go to bars, join any associations, tap your foot to music, or have any friends who play in bands, Survivor!

This post is making me want to go clubbing! I've only been once since my baby was born on New Year's Eve, it was a good friend's bachelorette party. I never was the biggest party person, but it is great to go shake your booty with the girls once in a while. I'm going to have to pick a night soon and leave the baby and Brent at home so I can boogie. I don't think there's anything wrong with a fat girl dancing. It's good exercise, it's fun, and I'm not going to put my life on hold until I'm "thin." Maybe some people don't like it, but I really don't care.

I'm a great dancer...when I'm alone in my apartment. When I go out in public, I'm just too self-conscious to really enjoy myself without multiple shots of tequila. I don't think clubs are really my scene, anyway. I much prefer having a glass of wine or a beer with a friend and being able to talk quietly.

Nevermind. See my reply to your post in the thread you started. This one said the same thing.
