I am new to the board. I need to lose about 150lbs. Whew! Now that I said that I feel much better. I have lost 15lbs so far. I joined a gym two weeks ago and have been going everyday or other day regularly. I am aiming to go once a day. I hope that I can do it.
If anyone has any helpful tips or suggestions that will be great. My biggest problem is, is that I quit my job (And if anyone knows of a job in the Atlanta area, I'm interested!!!!!!!!!!!) and have been sitting at home eating. I know that is defeating the purpose of losing weight, but I am bored. I have already scrubbed the house, washed the dogs, prepared dinner for my husband when he gets home and done every job search out there, and I am bored and I eat!
So, I need some help and some STRONG support to get me through the next 150lbs.

I've been posting here for a little while. I'm glad you joined us! I also have about 150 pounds to get down to what I think is my ideal weight.
You've done great already by losing 15. (((HUGS)))
Let me tell you, the hardest thing for me was to start an exercise routine. I was tortured in gym class because I was the fat girl, so I associated exercise with all the bad things in my childhood. Honey, I finally let go of it and decided HGAF if someone looks at me in the gym, pool or locker room. I am now doing water aerobics an average of 3 times a week. I love it and I don't feel like I am excercising.
I also try to follow WW, but I am an emotional eater. Working on that thru counseling.
Find something constructive to do to fill your time. Have any hobbies like scrapbooking or crafts?
This board has been really helpful for me, because I finally feel like I am not alone.
Hope to "see" you here more often. Let's help each other lose the weight!

Welcome to the board! Big giant congrats on the first 15 pounds! That's awesome!
My biggest advice is to not beat yourself up and to take it one day (one meal, one bite) at a time. My second biggest advice is to ignore the negativity you get from society and other people. You can do it no matter what anybody says!
Rock on!

Welcome to the board!
It's great to see another new face. If it's support you need, then you've come to the right place. Like Shawna said, just ignore the grumpy posters, the majority of the women here are wonderful! It's great knowing there are other people out there that face the same struggles, and overcome them together. Big congrats on losing the first 15lbs. =0) That's a HUGE step! Once you see some weight come off after all the hard work you put into it, it helps with the motivation a little. It's great that you're going to the gym too. Exercise is my biggest down fall. My suggestions to you is water, water, water and don't ever give up. You can do this!
Happy to have you,
Critter
