Hello everyone! seem like a great group here! I definatly fit in the 100+ group. I have always been large and it is something i accepted and have lived happily the way i am. There is a lot of changes going on in my life and is making me quite busy... I just turned 25, in college and in a great relationship. At the begining of the year i am making a major move half way across the country from my parents and where i have grown up. My b/f is leaving in a few weeks to get started at his job and get things set up before i get there and i have the semester in college to finish before i can leave. I decided with all these changes this is a good time to take better care of myself. Also after almost 3 months apart i would like the chance to wow him. I know realistically i can not loose a large amount of weight in that time and that is fine with me but i just want to suprise him some.

Low carb is not an option for me LOL. i love rice and pastas and not much of a meat person. My weakness is mexican food. My main problem is only eating 1-2 meals a day. I try to make better snack options for myself instead of chips, and candy i try to pick things like nuts, cereal, fruits and things with some kind of nutritional value. Though i been weak on the chocolate covered peanuts. i try to limit myself but as we all know restraint can be hard. I do drink diet soda and sugar free kool-aid to keep out the sugar.

I hope to become an active part of the group and i look forward to talking with those of you here. Suggestions and advice is greatly appreciated and i am not sure where to start right now, i am still trying to work out the details :)

Look forward to talking with you all

Welcome~

I wish you the best of luck in losing your weight. I agree with you low carb is not an option for me either. I was blessed that for my birthday my father and stepmother got me a gift certificate to Jenny Craig. I think that if you can do it, do so. Because when you say your weakness is Mexican, they have the most tasty enchillada for lunch, in fact I was thinking about having that today...emmmm my favorite

But, I agree that you need to eat more that 1-2 meals a day. That was one thing that I learned. They advised me that I was starving myself and that will contribute to the weight gain as well. They said, to eat breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, small snack. I think having these mini meals all day, really fills you up.

I wish you all the luck

Welcome to the boards! It sounds like you are already making some good changes by choosing healthier snacks. I think it's also great that you've learned to live happily the way you are. But you're right, you need to take care of yourself. I know you'll find the support you need here. And in 3 months, your b/f will be surprise by how much you've changed :)

Welcome Shatteredlight,

I'm glad you decided to join us. The women here are great and full of inspiration and motivation! If you like Mexican food, WW has some great recipes for enchiladas and such. They are great! Okay, so they may not be super authentic, but you can't say they aren't tastey...and healthy...which is an added little bonus! ;0) lol. I hope you find the support you need here.

Glad to have you,
