Diet Coke!!!

Okay, I think it has to stop. I have to give up the diet coke. I think I tend to eat more calories when I'm drinking it, partly because it makes other things taste so darn good. I probably have a 4-5 can a day habit-now that's more diet coke than I had in my entire pregnancy. Now, I gave it up because I knew it wasn't good for the baby, so why is it okay for me to drink?

I'm going to try to get down to one can a day for now and then go off completely (except for special occasions).

Wish me luck! Diet Coke is truly my drug of choice, I have such a problem with it!

Good luck on the diet coke habit. It is better to have that habit, then other things. I fortunately do not like the taste of diet coke. I do have a hard time drinking anything for that matter. So it is quite difficult to get the recommend amount of water in each day.

I wish you the best of luck breaking the habit.

Thanks for the info, but I still don't think I could bring myself to drink diet.. it just doesn't taste *right* hehe. I've also never found the nerve to try splenda, afraid it'll have that yuck after-taste that aspartame and saccharin have.

I guess I find it hard to believe that aspartame can cause all of those illnesses/health problems. If so, then why are companies still using it? And in that anonymous letter....I dont get how aspartame can be linked to carpal tunnel. Just doesnt make sense to me because if its that bad for us, then Pepsi and Coke would/should be going nuts trying to make the "All new! Diet Coke/Pepsi line with Splenda" or something.

Because the FDA still says aspartame is fine. They are very slow moving on reversing their own decisions.

As for carpal tunnel, I can't figure that one out either. My opinion comes from personal experience though, and just from the fact that I don't want to put fake carp like that in my body.

because its all about money just like everything else ... if you ask yourself that question ... you can get the same answer by asking yourself why mcdonalds and wendys and every other fast food place offers the food they do when its doing no good for anyone, yanno?

Well I have to admit, I love the Diet Coke with lime. Although, I would much rather have a regular coke (no pepsi for me) any time. I have a diet coke every few days but now have switched to Fruit 2 0's. They're made with splenda and sometimes too sweet for me so I mix half with regular water.

Just my 2 cents...
