Darlin' I know exactly what you're going through - in fact I'm sure pretty much all of us have been there. One day I'll have to tell you all about me and my cupcakes a month ago - I still shudder from that experience!
But whine all you want...that's what we're here for!
I could have wrote your post Kerstin. I have messed up so much and for so long that today, which is a great day thus far, Im second guessing myself. I also hit the 200 mark today. Im still trying to decide whether I should be freaking over it or look at it as turning point. Im trying to think positive and get myself out of this slump but Im down to one pair of jeans and Im feeling very discouraged. I went to buy some more jeans yesterday and couldnt fit into the 16's because they were too tight and the size 18's were too freaking loose! Im like in between or something stupid.
So all I can say is thank you Kerstin for starting this post and allowing me to get it off my chest too. I hope that you enjoy your movie tonight and can get back on track soon!
I really want to see that movie...glad to hear that it was good. My dad was a fireman asst chief, so Im drawn to movies like that. I should actually call him and see if he wanted to go see it too....he loved Backdraft!
((hugs))I know that cycle all to well...and I'm trying to tell myself that once in a while is not going to ruin all the hard work I have put into my weightloss journey.Pick yourself back up and start again :o) Don't look back and don't be to hard on yourself, you're doing awesome and one day is only one day.
Overeating, binge eating, and even not eating are all coping skills that we use to help us overcome emotions that we are not feeling strong enough to deal with directly.
Learning to find other less destructive coping skills is a great first step. Learning to recognize and accept the emotions takes a little more time and energy.
When you find yourself wanting to eat or even while eating - get a mirror. Look at the person in the mirror and ask yourself are you really eating for nutritional value. Look at the food - on a scale of 1 to 10 how nutritional? Often just making the connection to eating and emotions will stop or slow down the eating.
