Hi everyone....I am new to this board.

I need to know which is the best scale to buy. I weigh 310 and I feel like the scales I buy break very quickly. And I don't buy the cheap ones anymore. It must be me....there aren't any gobblins that come at night and screw up your scales are there?

I saw at Bed Bath and Beyond that they had a Weight Watches scale that goes up to 330 or some other way out there number.

Someone please answer my question.

Hi Susie and Welcome!

As far as what scales are the best, I say they're all EVIL!

In my own experience I have found digital scales to be less reliable than analog scales (with the big dials). If you have lots of money you could buy a doctor's style scale. If you are doing ww and going to meetings you could just rely on that scale. Personally I only weigh myself every week or so or I end up getting obsessed about the numbers and it derails me from actually working on my program.

Sorry I have no specific brand to recommend.

Good luck!

Hey Sussie Q! Welcome to the Board!!!!!!!! I don't know much about scales because I work in a doctor's office and use their scale. I saw a dietician a few years ago though, and she had the coolest little scale that measured body fat as well as weight. I wish I could find one like hers. I know Walmart and Target carry one and I have looked at them but not purchased one yet. I liked the body fat numbers they seemed to be more encouraging than Pounds. Stick around and visit with us, we will encourage you all the way! Hugs, Brenda

Hi there Sussie-Q :) I bought my scale from Target and its digital. I think it cost about 25 bucks. Ive had it over a year and not had a problem to date. I had a regular scale before that and it wasnt as reliable. When you got off the scale, the pointer never went back to zero...was always a few pounds no matter how many times I reset it.

Ki Kerstin -

Even thou I like WW I am not doing that. I get discouraged if I can't lose fast enough. And yes I know it took years to look like this! But I know me and it just works better if I can see significant change and fast. So I am doing a modified version of Dr Atkins, very little fat, lean meats (mostly chicken and fish), lots of greens and more fruits.

I did the orginal Dr Atkins and lost 25lbs in two weeks and felt just wonderful. But I missed fruits a lot and the diet got boring. So went back on WW and the scale just inched along. Got discourage and ate my self back to where I was when I started.

But started feeling horrible right away so I went out to the book store and found "Carb diet for dummies" and it really explained very well. So I am attacking it again with much more wisdom. I know I do well counting my carbs. I guess we all have a diet that works best for each of us.

The Good + about WW is all the group support at the meetings. Also all gagets and gizmos they sold and recipies they passed out. I miss that very much. Boo Hoo can't have everything.

Thanks Everyone
