Hi there! My name is Lisa and I am 24 yrs old. I am married and have a 6yr old girl and 3 yr old boy. I found out I was Type 2 Diabetic in March. I put myself on a strict diet and lost from 372 to 265. My diabetes is slowly going away. I found out I was pregnant a little over a month ago....But I lost Brooklyn Alisa last Fri. at 9 weeks pregnant. I had to have a D&C and am heartbroken. I need to get through this so I decided to try to get back to normal but I know I will need some help and motivation this time. I am currently 272..as I gained 7 pounds with my pregnancy and my goal weight is 150. So 127 to go...The first 100 went pretty quick due to a 600 calorie diet and major exercise.....But not sure i want to go that route again. My body has been through a pretty tramatic experience and I think that 600 calories may not be enough. Well Im glad to meet everyone. Lisa

Hi Lisa and Im very very sorry to hear about your loss. If there is anything we can do to help you through this time and to lose weight, let us know. I hope that you stick around the boards and get to know us better. Congrats on the weight loss thus far!
PS I also think that 600 calories is not enough to eat....making a change now might help you lose more because you could be hitting a starvation mode.

Again, I am very sorry for the loss of your little girl. Hugs, Brenda

Welcome to the boards, Lisa! I am so sorry to hear about your loss! That must have been so devastating for you. (((((HUGS))))). I'm glad you found us, though. This is a great group of ladies and are here for you during your weight loss and also for anything else that you want to talk about.
I agree that 600 calories is way too low. That would put your body in starvation mode and it would actually be much more difficult to lose. Have you talked to your doctor about this? He or she should be able to point you in the right direction as far as how many calories you should consume, and what foods you should be eating especially since you are diabetic. He might also recommend a dietician or nutritionist to help you.
Good luck and again, welcome!
