A Petition to iVillage

This is a community of women - a support group where women who have/had 100+ pounds can come to safely visit with each other.

As the disclaimer states "This board is a place where women who want to lose more than 100 pounds can find a safe and supportive community. It is NOT a place to debate obesity. More importantly, this board is not a place to attack or judge other members who are seeking support. Posts of this nature will be removed and may result in loss of membership and posting privileges. If you are seeking to lose under 100 pounds, we suggest you visit Diet & Fitness's list of boards and choose a board that fits your needs. Thank you!"

iVillage prides itself on safety of the members. Hence, the Terms of Service

"At iVillage, our goal is to provide a safe, friendly community where members can find the information and support they need. When you join, you agree to abide by our terms of service. The terms of service set standards for our website and our community. The rules of play provide additional rules and information for our community, so please take a moment to review these guidelines"

This board is not safe. This board has been stalked for the past year and a half by an individual who has repeatedly created new names. This individuals posts are all the same - mean spirited attacks. A few members have been particularily targeted by this poster and the sense of fear is present.

The members of this board have repeatedly asked for ivillage assistance in removing this individual. The members of this board have compromised their safety long enough. iVillage must do something to protect the members of this board from harrassment. This is a hostile environment.

iVillage employees have stated that they know the identity of the individual behind this harrassment. iVillage has an obligation to protect the members of this board. Legal action must be taken against this member before the members of this board file legal action against iVillage for violating our right to safety. Since many members pay to belong to iVillage a lawsuit would not be unrealistic.

iVillage all we ask for is a safe place to post.

Don't know why you bothered to post here at all. So you're gone, good-bye, good riddance.

The only thing is that the ISP provider must be willing to help.

You post confuses me...

No one claimed to feel danger from you (blu_gold) you are an innocent newbie right? Or are you the board stalker who we do feel some concern about? Individuals like the board stalker need professional mental health assistance. This individual is not well and obviously has some major relationship and ego issues. Individuals like the board stalker seek attention and become very angry when successful people like Shawna don't back down. Individuals like the board stalker have very few friends and often failed marriages and distant children. Sometimes their lives are so small and meaningless that they must attach themselves to the strongest person they can. The board stalker has decided that Shawna is the perfect example of what they want desperately to be like. When they can't reach this height of perfection, they crumble into the decaying rot that is often posted.

Unless you are the infamous board stalker, telling us to breath easy is quite meaningless. If you are the board stalker using a new name, we still won't rest easy until you leave the board for good.

For a newbie, you know an awful lot about what's going on. Joan's post was pulled so when/how did you manage to read it? It isn't polite to ask anyone what their weight is and certainly not to ask how long it has taken them to lose the weight. I dare you to walk into any group of people and ask them that question - I am sure that most will be offended.

Nutcases? You are a newbie and you decided to tell us all the "truth". Talk about someone with a huge ego issue. You haven't been here long enough to know what this board is about. A newbie who comes to an established board and decides that they know all there is to know about this board? Talk about grandiosity issues as well.

Discrimination? HAHAHAHAHAHA oh that is precious, absolutely precious. I would love to pinch your cheeks in person for that adorable paragraph.

I must confess I don't get the connection to Chicken Little? Perhaps you could refresh your memory of the story before attempting to use it as an analogy.

You said "Look at yourselves in the mirror, for Christ sakes. Ask yourself what the heck are you doing!! Ridiculous." I giggled my wiggly giggly butt off at this. I am a regular on this board - of course I will fight to keep it safe. You are a newbie and you are getting this worked up about a board you don't even belong to? Wanna talk about ridiculous. No, actually, let's not - you would win hands down. I won't even debate this one with you - you win! You win by a landslide.

You ended your post with "With that, I'll be gone. Laughing all the way (at you, at ivillage, at this stupid stupid behavior)" well darling you made me smile as well today. I hope you can see the enormous humor in what you wrote.

hahahhahahahaha

I trust that you are looking out for our best interests Joyce, but I agree with Furry that having someone to check in on the boards during the evening time and the weekends is greatly needed.

Things are getting a little ridiculous (I think you know what I am referring to) and I am glad to have other avenues to post to about it. Thanks for helping out, Joyce.
