Well, Andre and I were supposed to Montreal tonight after I got off work at 10. It would have been a 5 hour or so drive, but we couldn't go because Andre's truck is screwed up. Things are flashing up on the dashboard, like the engine light and stuff, and Andre thinks it might be a bad connection with the computer inside or something. Hopefully we will be able to get it fixed and go tomorrow, but that won't leave us much time. We were going to visit his brother, and then stop in Ottawa on the way back to see my sister. She hasn't met Andre yet, and I haven't seen her for a couple years. She hasn't even seen me since I lost 60 pounds! Well, I guess everything happens for a reason, right? We'll see what the reason is for this. ~Sabrina

Sorry to hear about your trip being delayed! At least it happened before you got out on the road - I've made that same trip before (I went to highschool in Bowmanville) and the last thing you want is to break down on the 401.

And hey, it gives you time to lose even more weight...and then think of how shocked and happy your sister will be!

Yeah, but hopefully we'll still make the trip this week.

That is so cool that you went to high school in Bowmanville! I did too!!! I went to Durham Christian High School, a small school. Where did you go? ~Sabrina

I agree, thank goodness you weren't out on the road and your car broke down! There's places out here in Texas you don't want to break down at or run out of gas! I would be so disappointed if I didn't get to ge see my sisters.

Hang in there.

I went to Bowmanville High - but please remember, I graduated high school in 1988! When I lived there it was such a pretty little town but I guess it has grown a lot since then.

Get this, I even waitressed at the Fifth Wheel Truck Stop for two summers. It was awful but I made great tips!

Well, we're in Montreal now. We left around 5 pm last night and got here around 10 pm. The truck got fixed, over $500 later, but it's better than breaking down here! We spent more than 3 hours at the Toyota dealership getting it fixed, and it turned out to be the alternator. I'm just waiting for us to get into an accident here...the driving here is absolutely nuts! Toronto driving is bad, and I won't drive in Toronto unless I absolutely have to, but you couldn't PAY me enough to drive here! Everyone is so rude! Andre's brother lives right down town, too, and we have to park on the side of the road...good thing I don't have to do it, I haven't parallel parked since I took driving school!

ANyway, we're here, and we're having fun. I'm looking forward to seeing my sister tomorrow!

Oh, and Freya, Bowmanville has grown a lot even since I graduated in 1997. There's restaurants, a movie theatre, Canadian Tire, and probably more, but I haven't been there for a while. It's too bad that sometimes little towns become big, and sort of lose their old feel.
