How did you guys stay motivated when you had so much to lose? I started last monday and I have lost 4 pounds which is really good but it is so hard to keep going when you can't notice the difference. I know I didn't get here in a day but if I could just notice one thing it would be so much better.

How do I stay motivated until I start noticing(or better yet DH) starts noticing??

I guess you just keep telling yourself that although your not feeling different yet, you WILL.

No advice - I just started yesterday! But I know what you mean. Obviously, I didn't get to 314 pounds without trying a lot of diets, and also obviously I had trouble staying motivated, focussed and on track :-) It is really hard when you don't see the results, and then you know that you're going to be actively "dieting" for 1 or 2 years. It sure feels overwhelming!

I have to agree with everyone and say that reading some of the success stories helps me. I don't use a scale so I also go by the small victories found in increased levels of fitness - making it up that flight of stairs without loosing my breath or being able to do 15 pushups without my arms shaking (it took awhile for that one!).

Remember there is more than just what the scale is telling you!

Yep. I think this place is a good motivation for me. I have a hard time noticing when I get bigger or smaller! But the other day, just when I was getting discouraged, my boyfriend made some great comments on my progress, so he has noticed but I have not! Anyway, four pounds is still really good. You can notice by how your clothes fit you, how much energy you have also.

I think one of the things that keeps me motivated is clothing. I just can't wait to get back into some of those cute things I wore when I lost weight the first time. Plus, I'm already getting into clothes that were too tight. Being able to shop in any ole store is a great one too. Good luck ladies.
