So tired all the time!

Hello all! I just started my new lifestyle 2 weeks ago and have lost 10 lbs already. Yay me! My main problem right now is that I am absolutely exhausted all the time. I quit drinking sodas and switched to unsweetened ice tea and water, so I'm sure it's the lack of suger and reduced caffeine that's causing this, but this is getting silly. And even as tired as I am, I'm not sleeping well at night. I haven't started going back to the gym yet, since I wanted to let my body adjust to the new diet first, but at this rate I'm not going to have the energy to go work out any time soon. I know, I know, exercise will give me more energy in the long run, but when I'm practically falling asleep at my desk as it is, the last thing I can bring myself to do is get up earlier and go to the gym. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Are you sure that you are getting enough iron? Often a change in eating habits means that you are eating fewer iron-rich foods, and that can certainly lead to exhaustion. I've been a bit anemic myself and few times, and it is amazing how quickly iron supplements make me feel better! Too much iron is dangerous too, though - so best to get a blood test. Also, are you sure you are drinking enough water and iced tea? Dehydration can also make you feel very tired. Last thought- are you eating frequently enough? If you are going long stretches, perhaps try to add in a healthy snack to keep your blood sugar level. okay, I'm all out of ideas, now!

I think you're right, I may be anemic. I really need to start taking a vitamin every day. I'm pretty sure I'm eating enough because I have a tendancy to have low blood sugar issues if I don't eat regularly and I haven't had any problems lately. As far as dehydration goes, I guess that's a possibility, too. I have problems making myself drink enough water. I know, I know, bad dieter, bad bad bad dieter! All I know is that I'm so tired all the time, I'm not sleeping well, and the thought of going to the gym makes me want to cry!!!
