An introduction and "Hello"!

Hi all! I'm Virginia. I'm 35 years old, married, with a two year old daughter and a 4 year old son. I currently weigh around 305 to 310 lbs. I stopped weighing myself regularly after reaching 300. Its no surprise that my health is failing and I'm not functioning in my daily life very well at this weight. Basically, I'm completely miserable physically speaking.

I've been saying, "I'll start dieting tomorrow" for months upon months. If I keep that up I'm afraid I'll run out of tomorrows. So here I am trying to do something about it. I am starting out really slow and simple. I'm just cutting back on my portions and my sugar intake to start. Next I'm going to work in some walking around the neighborhood a few times a week. I'm hoping my "baby steps" and the support of this board will help me get rid of the extra pounds once and for all. I should tell you that I've been lurking a while, but just wasn't ready to speak up until now. I want to thank all of you who've shared your experiences. Even when I was lurking, your posts helped me so much. Knowing I'm not alone in how I'm living and what I'm dealing with really makes a difference in my outlook on things.

Geesh, I'm glad that's over. I'm a better listener than I am a talker, so intros always make me nervous :)

Hi! I'm a newbie too!

We have a long way to go. Drink lots of water. Exercise.

I was surprised how much weight one coke would put on me. Look at your carb intake. That is my problem.

Hello Virginia!!! Welcome to the board. I've recently joined, too, and there are a lot of great people here!! Very supportive! Lots of great advice! The best thing I can recommend is to stop drinking soft drinks. I'm allergic to Nutra Sweet, etc, so I can't drink diet drinks, so 2 1/2 weeks ago I switched to unsweetened tea and water. So far, I've lost 10 lbs. You'll be amazed at what the little changes can do!!

Best wishes,

Aggie

Hi! Im Lisa and im new here also. Im 24 and weigh in at 272. I started my diet in Late March and weighed in at 372 when I started. I lost down to 265 but became pregnant in early August. I gained 7 pounds with the pregnancy but i lost her on 10-15. I started cutting back Mon. but it is VERY hard. I have been leaning towards food for comfort so it is MAJOR baby steps this time. Im hoping(AND PRAYING) to get down to 150. But boy will I be happy to just get below 200 first. My hubby has given me the insentitive to lose the 122 lbs. by telling me i can get my belly button pierced. I KNOW! IKNOW! WEIRD! But I had it done when I was a teen and skinnier. OH TO BE THERE AGAIN! And besides its only for him to see. I dont plan on having any more babies. I have Haylee(6) and Logan(3) who are here with me and Brooklyn who is in my heart...soooooo....I am totally content. I could never replace Brooklyn so Im not even going to try. She was a surprice but such a joyful one and I am too scared ill lose another one. Well here I am rambling when Im supposed to be welcoming you and wishing you great luck! Sorry!

Youll love it here ...so far all these women have been sooooo great. So welcome! AND GOOD LUCK! One day well see those 100s! Luv, Lisa
