OT, voting in Ohio

Just got off the phone with a friend of mine. Apparently her daughter was sent a letter by an attorney saying she had falsified her voter registration and would have to appear in court tomorrow! They told her this is a fifth degree felony. The county board's education department also sent her a letter saying she needed to reverify where she lived, have several witnesses, other documentation and I believe fill out paperwork. Both letters were received yesterday. My friend called the ACLU and the local paper and all will be at court tomorrow. My friend called the county and they didn't see anything wrong, they didn't understand, etc. 35,000 persons in Ohio are having their registrations cancelled for similar reasons. The leader of the NAACP in Cleveland has been fighting such battles for minority voter's rights in Cleveland because voter registrations of minorities are also being challenged. I urge everyone to register to vote if you have not. Read up on the situation in Ohio. Read up on all the issues from nonpartisan sources as you possibly can. Vote wisely! Ohio is a key state in this race as well as Pennsylvania and Florida. Just be wise! Thanks! Heather

This is going to be a messy election, I am prepared that we probably won't know the outcome for a month if the lawyers (on both sides) have their way. This is a great reminder to all to be vigilant and remember that we are fortunate to live in this country and every vote needs to be counted!
