Does anyone have any good recipes for a reasonably healthy, low-cal dip for vegetables? I'm trying to get my "5 to 10 a day" in, but I'm not a very enthusiastic veggie eater, and thought a bit of dip as a treat would help.-

Sure, instead of using sour cream to make a dip...whether veggie or onion, use cottage cheese.Place it in a blender or food processer until smooth and mix with the dip mix.I served it to people who hated cottage cheese and they couldn't tell the difference.

I like to dip veggies in light caesar salad dressing, it is the easiest.

But you can also combine fat free sour cream with dry onion soup mix and dill.

Or light vegetable and herb cream cheese package blended with 1 cup fat free sour cream. This has a nice dippy consistency.

For low cal fruit dip, I like light strawberry cream cheese mixed with 1 cup fat free sour cream. My FAVORITE is 1 cup light blueberry yogurt blended up with 1 package extra light cream cheese, and served with fresh pineapple chunks!!! yummers

I have a recipe for curry dip that I can't remember off the top of my head. Let me know if you want it.

I've been dipping my veggies in hummus lately. There are lots of flavors on the market today. I'm really digging the 40 spice and garlic varities right now. The hummus might even count as a veggie (it's a bit of a stretch, but it's made from garbanzo beans)
