I am glad George won and not because we are both Texans but I think our terrorist attackers need to be afraid of someone over here. You know, "get a rope... type of mentality".

And, I have heard that they were afraid of him and his dad because they don't mess around.

I do think Kerry should have not concided like he did. I think he should have waited until the end....you know the saying....the party ain't over til the fat lady sings!" and who knows weren't there enough electorial votes for a slim chance that he could? I didn't get to see anything else after I went to bed.

I work for a municipality and I know how long it takes to get something done. Certianly not 4 years! I think all presidents should stay a mandatory 8 years, however, there is alway the possiblity of getting a very bad apple. So maybe the way it is set up is not bad. Aww well.....

Sorry to bend your ear.

I think thing could have run smoother in the election process. I heard of towns in Florida and Ohio where people had to wait 4 hours or more to vote. That is NOT acceptable. If you had to get back to work, or had a small child w/you, or were very old, you wouldn't have waited and thus, no vote.

In my district, there was only ONE voting booth. ONE. Ridiculous.

All in all, its much better than 4 years ago. I think John Kerry did the right thing...there was no way he could have won Ohio w/the provisionial votes and I think he did right by the country by not dragging it out. He hadn't won the popular vote like Al Gore did 4 years earlier.

I wanted Kerry, not Bush, but think that at least we know and don't have to wait months for a result.

I agree with Dawn. I am disappointed that Kerry conceded. Also, being from Ohio, with the challengers and how registrations were challenged is just plain unconstitutional. I feel it is a very scary day in America when all these people are given provisional ballots and others are told they cannot vote and have to have lawyers step in. Sorry, but sounds a little crooked to me. A dear friend of mine's daughter was made to go to court because her registration was contested. They, and I won't say who, had no proof. Why were the challengers involved, their parties' responses, quote and this is the truth from the same friend in court with her daughter, "Because I can, who cares!" Sorry, I hate Bush and all politicians right about now who think they are going to push their beliefs on me. You have one senator down south who is anti-abortion, wants to do away with it all together and another who believes gays should be banned from teaching in schools. Morals and politics should not go together. Separation of church and state, freedom of religion. Our freedoms our slowly being robbed and people just need to wake up. Oh and yet another budget cut in our district and Cleveland. More teachers are getting laid off and 50 students in a classroom. This is our reality. Bush needs to mend some serious fences! OK, I'll go cool off now...

I am just glad it is over. I think for the amount of crap we have had to put for all this time, Kerry should have sucked it up and stuck it out and stayed in it till the end. it comes across as being a 'sore loser' to me, even though I voted for him (not that I wanted to)because Bush had his turn and I figured what the heck, give Kerry a shot.

Oh please - anyone who is chauffered around in a plane named The Flying Squirrel cannot be taken seriously.

Well, I was disappointed in the outcome because I wanted Kerry to win (I'm NOT a big fan of Bush!) but I think he did the right thing when he conceded. There was no way those numbers were going to work in his favor, and instead of dragging this thing out like the last time, he put closure on the election. Oh well, at least Bush can't get re-elected again lol!

I am beyond happy with the results of the election. Not only am I a loyal supporter of W, I have met him and have found him tobe a real person.

Counting votes? My thoughts on this center on the fact that they were miltary votes, and knowing as many as I do in the miltary, Kerry would not have won anyway.

Boils down to this, not only did Bush win the popular vote by 3 million, he won the electorial college as well. Most of this country was behind him and that is that. All the marches in Orgegon smells of sore losers and some serious growing up needs to be done.

Long lines? I was glad there was long lines for a change. My polling had 12 machines and a 2 hour long wait, now tell me what is wrong with that picture. Oh yes, people actually exercised their rights for a change.
