Well, I still have about 80 pounds to lose, but nwo I know I'm not alone. So today's looking up. Reading the member profiles and some of the older posts made me feel a lot more hopeful and upbeat about my whole situation. Hope you don't mind me snooping.

As I said I'm working on losing about 80 pounds. I'm a married mom in the upper Midwest (small town). I have 2 kids (3 when I count the hubby), girl and a boy and a big, rowdy dog who thinks he's people.

So that's a little about me. Thanks for letting me join the party.

Thanks for the great welcome. I'm outside of Fargo-Moorhead by about 30 miles. Little town of about 2,200 people but it's great. The kids love it and I no longer have to commute everyday which I love. It's finally enabled me to start working on improving my health and lifestyle. I'm so afraid that my kids will learn comfort eating and bad dietary habits from me like I did from my parent and then they'll get trapped in the cycle too. So, we're making changes. Slowly but surely.

Looking forward to seeing you around. Thanks for all the good vibes!

Thanks for the welcome. I have lost some weight already. I lost close to 20 pounds a year ago and have managed to keep it off so far, even while I quit smoking. (YEAH!)

It's great to find people with similar interests and problems who aren't judgmental. I'm looking forward to getting to know people.

Hi, there. Thanks for the welcome. I'm enjoying the boards so far.

For diet, I've been following the "6 week body makeover" diet just to improve my eating habits if nothing else. You eat protein at every meal and each of the 3 snacks. Fruit, carbs, and veggies are basically rotated throughout the day. I haven't lost any weight on it but, my eating habits are MUCH better. I'm not sure if I'm just not exercising enough or if my portion control needs work but, I feel better about myself just knowing I'm getting away from the pizza and burger diet from before.

I ordered the "Fat Flush Plan" from my library. I'm thinking about giving that one a try. Anybody have any input on that plan? It would be much appreciated.

Happy Saturday!

I don't know anything about the Fat Flush Diet. I am doing low carb low fat...sort of thing on my own.

I did the Atkins a year ago and got tired of the diet and re-gained the 25 lbs I had lost. This time it's better, easier, and I am not craving fruit as badly as the last time. I feel a whole lot better now. I felt like I was going to die on some nights. I hurt so bad, I was really scared.

I prayed for the courage to do the diet again. I think I did it wrong the last time. I feel a whole lot better about it and losing weight. Maybe I was not ready then.
