I have been going to Parent Weekend at my children's college for the last four years. This was my last year because my son graduated last year and my daughter will graduate in May. I always took a ton of clothes ( smile) because I did not know what to wear that I could fit in. Need less to say I was always overdressed because........ you got it ....... it was what I could fit in. Every year I said next year I will be dressed casually and having fun............Well, I wore my zip up jeans, school T-shirt and tennis shoes and had a ball. It is also the first time I could wear it ( the T- shirt)without it looking like a second skin and to be put in the I will wear one day drawer. I enjoyed the food instead of feeling guilty for eating it and looking like I did ...........I would only eat a little of everything to show the people I was really not an overeater.........DUH! I ate and had the best oatmeal raisin cookies I had ever eaten and had fun!!! No one clearing their throat about what I ate and how much. I also went to a dessert buffet that the culinary school put on!!! Chocolate everywhere!!!!! I ate what I pleased and you know what?????????????? I did not go overboard I sampled, did not take big servings had fun and had great conversation. I was mobile walking and talking. Something I did not do before because I sat down and tried to avoid other people. I did not feel guilty eating chocolate .. because I looked like I had already eaten all the chocolate in the free world. I ate what I wanted to and had great conversations with other parents, students and faculty.

Yes, ladies they had real whipped cream to eat with the variety of desserts. The strange thing is when I allowed myself to eat without guilt I just sampled and took small portions. I had a great time and did not go into the Miss Piggy I will eat anything mode because I am already FAT anyway guilty mood. One goal at a time whether it is large or small when it is reached it is an awesome feeling and can put you back on track no if's and and's because if you can meet one why not the others you have set for yourself????? YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so happy for you! That sounds like an awesome experience. And congrats on your kids graduating and getting ready to graduate! Another milestone achievement for you. And next year, you will have all that extra money to spend on your wardrobe!!!!

Way to go, girl! I know you are so proud of yourself. Sounds like your eating strategies will help you keep it off, too. I bet your kids are proud too.

Keep up the good work. We';re all proud of ya!

That's great, Pookie! That just goes to show that success doesn't just come with the numbers on the scale, but also with all the non-scale victories as well. Congratulations!
