My 15 yr old DD wants me to do yoga with her.

Okay now I weigh 295...and I went to observe and I really don't think I can do it. For one I have weak ankles and bad knees. My knees are bad because I have fallen several times on them both. And, I have sprained both my ankles at least twice. I am really afraid of falling again.

Sooooo.... I can't get on the floor and up again without two burly men (in loin cloth) helping me up.

So Has anyone out there who is at least 295 done Yoga and been able to actually do the floor exercises?

Two videos you should try are "Yoga for Dummies" and "Yoga for the inflexible."

Sussie, I suggest asking your daughter to pick something else that is doable for you right now if you dont think you can do it.

I bought the "Yoga for Inflexible People" on eBay for a couple of bucks. It's a good DVD but, I really need "Yoga for Unmotivated People" (think they'll make one of those?). "Inflexible" has got a great breakdown on the poses and aids (if you need them and I do!) (using chairs, blocks, etc.). The main thing that I don't like is that it's kinda start and stop. It's not a smooth flowing routine. Another great feature is you can choose from the menu what you want to work on (i.e. strength, flexibility, etc.) and you can select what time frame you want (15, 30, 45, 90 minutes) and then the pick and choose different poses that suit your needs.

It's a great video but, I honestly forget that I have it and I just don't use it much. Guess I'll have to break it out after the kids are in bed tonight.

Hope it's helpful!
