Challenge Idea!!! (Need input)

Alright, after reading Yav's post, as well as everyone else's I think we are in agreement that this board needs a boost. We've already had some great ideas for challenges, but Yav also mentioned possibly a challenge through the holidays...

Well, I have an idea. Either we could challenge ourselves to maintain our weight going into the holidays, or we could even possibly challege ourselves to a small weight loss. What do you all think? If it's the second choice, how much are we willing to commit ourselves to?

I can't do this alone. Please throw in your suggestions!

Well, I'm sick of maintaining (ok, I'm sick of GAINING) so I would commit to a small loss.

If we start it this coming Monday, that would be 7 weeks (to the end of the year.) As for how much, I have no idea. It's been so long since I've lost anything, I don't know what I'm capable of! Should this be an individual challenge, or should we try to set a "whole board loss" ?

Great idea! Is thru the holidays Thanksgiving thru Christmas...that whole month? If so I say we try to lose 2-3 lbs. That way if we cheat a little we can pump it into high gear and still meet our goal of a 2-3 lb weight lose!

Are we making a "game" of this and giving a title to the winner? Having a "win, place, show" type thing?

Probably sounds silly but, it's make it more motivating to me. (I am a strange person, I know.)

Just an idea for consideration.

I'm thinking this should be an individual thing, as much as I would like it to be a board challenge. This way, we can't entertain the thought that someone else will lose the weight for us; therefore, tempting us to give in to the holiday craze. If we each set a goal for ourselves, it will be more motivating to not eat that second helping of mashed potatoes or a second slice of pie. Plus, everyone is on a different health routine and loses weight differently. It's more likely that we would be able to set realistic goals individually. However, once each individual goal is achieved, we could add that together for a total board loss.

Also, it will take us through to January 1, 2005!!! Wouldn't that be a great way to start the new year...to know we had conquered the holidays?!? Thanks for the input...keep contributing!

Okay, I'm confused. Is this going to be a board challenge or just something we do at home on our own? Are we going to post our "goal" to the board, or jsut keep it to ourselves?

See, I'm confused! I need to do something where I'm accountable to someone.....

HELP! I want to be part of it, but don't know what you guys plan on doing?

Argh!

i agree that it should be a indivual thing but i think everyone should know what our goals are

i will so join in if everyone agrees to do this

Maybe we could each post an individual goal, and then once a week or so post again with our progress toward the goal.

Personally, I would also like to post exercise as part of my goal. As others have recently posted, if I exercise, I'm not going to waste that energy eating so much garbage I don't want myself eating.
