low carb breads?

I'm not going low-carb, but I was just sitting here thinking... how do they make breads and pastry/baked items low carb? I guess one obvious answer would be using a fake sugar or splenda, but what about the simple carbs in flour?

I might buy low-carb bread if it tastes as good as "normal" bread... but not if there are weird fake manufactured ingredients in there to make it low-carb! I get enough of that carp from the other foods I eat hehe.

Often they use soy flour or add more fibre. Or...plastic!!!

j/k about the plastic part!

I stopped at Wal-Fart today and picked up some seven grain low carb bread from Pepperidge Farm.. I'll let you know. Funny, the low carb bread is smaller in size than regular bead. WFT is up with that ? And keep in mind if you swear it with PB, it's even better.

*Do not EVER get the Atkin's Bakery Bread. PLEASE.

IMHO, you're much better off eating something that's whole grain, multigrain in terms of bread as opposed to low carb bread, which is equally as processed as Wonder Bread.

Low carb white bread...will never make sense to me!

That's a big O-YEAH on the Atkins Bread,,,yuk yuk,,,gag,,,gag....spatuie

I did try the pepperidge farm and liked it pretty good. As I recall. I just went ahead purchased and eat the Wal-Mart 1000 grains bread in the deli. (Actually it's not a 1000 grains)

I am now offically unable to eat cashews....the peanuts were the first to go. My system just can't handle it.
