I realized I was overweight when I was teased in elementary school because of my weight. I've been overweight most of my life, but was never really obese until I was an adult. I guess by then I was so used to being overweight, that it was just a way of life for me and I never even realized how heavy I was getting until I saw some pictures and was totally disgusted. Still, I did nothing about it until the beginning of this year. I decided that I was going to make losing weight a priority in my life and for the first time, I've been able to take off a significant amount of weight. Now if I can keep that up and keep it off, I'll really be happy!
I never thought I was overweight until after about a year after the birth of my second son. the weight just started to creep up on me. A couple of months ago when I was pregnant with our 3rd son, I was tipping the scales at 306lbs, I was sooo embaressed and knew I had to do something about this. Im now down to alittle less then 270lbs. I would love to get down a weight anywhere btwn 160-190lbs.
Probably about 4th grade when the kids started teasing me at school and I couldn't shop in the regular clothes. (I hate the name pretty plus. There was nothing pretty about those clothes.) The kids called my best friend twig(she was super thin.) and me log. I did my first diet at 12 and have been going up and down ever since. sharla
When I lost all the weight and my boyfriend at the time lost interest in me.I learned later he liked *beefy*(as he called em)women. Then after I had my son and never lost the weight from him did I realize that once again I was overweight...or fluffy as I like to call it.
My mother took me to a nutritionist at 10, to Weight Watchers when I was 13, etc. She meant well but I didn't really "understand" or care about losing weight. I thought I was fine. Then in high school I tried both again, etc, and in University, again, etc. etc.
But I truly did not REALIZE I was overweight until Christmas of last year, I was in France, and got stuck in the washroom at 245 pounds. There are very few obese people in Europe and the bathrooms are just tiny cubicles... anyway... what an enlightenment!!!
I don't know exactly when because I've been overweight most of my life. It was about the time I started school when I started getting chubbier than the avg kid, and it never really stopped from there. I knew from a very young age that I was bigger than other kids, I was teased and I felt self conscious about my size and the clothes I had to wear. I guess it was probably 6 months or so before I got pg the first time that I realized I wasn't just fat, I was obese.
I've been fat since I was about 9 years old. My folks divorced and I learned the comfort eating thing. I was thin again in high school (last three years). The weight just melted off I was so happy with my life. My freshman year of college I put on the freshman 20#. My sophmore year I gained 75 do to birth control pills. From that point on I have just continued to gain. My highest was 296#. Hugs, Brenda

Well, for me, I don't really remember when.
