How do you get motivated to exercise? Once I get in the habit, I am fine with exercising. I actually enjoy it. I just have to FORCE myself to do it for about 2 weeks. I have not found the motivation as of yet. Anyone have any ideas??

Thanks!

I wish I had the "answer".

I work out 6 days a week and some days I have NO desire to go. Sometimes you just have to go. I find the more I put it off and the more I give myself excuses I end up just going. I feel guilty when I don't go.

If I get to the gym and decide not to go in something is MAJORLY wrong.

Its rare that Imake excuses not to go. I have to be dead tired or just WAY too busy to just skip it.

I find music really helps me listening to something new, or old for that matter just putting some on and getting into it.

Good luck.

Put on your shoes. People who put shoes on first thing are much more productive in everything according to some guru I heard on the tv one day. I find once I get those shoes on, my motivation level does actually go up!

Wow I like that, and when I think about it... it seems to be true. If I hang out in bare feet or slippers it takes me a lot longer to get going. If I put shoes on I seem to have more energy or something.

I yo-yoed this week big time and managed to point myself in the relative direction of a wagon and thinking seriously of getting back on...

WOW! That's a DITTO!

I never snapped to that. (putting on shoes first thing) Maybe we should make a list of out-of-thought motivators and a list of things that are not out of thought which will help all of us motivate more!

I joined Curves in Oct. I have to drive by right on my way home from work. That makes it easy. I just pull in the parking lot and go in. I take my workout clothes with me in the car and change there. On my days off from work when I have a lot to do (housework and shopping), I ususally get up early, around 8ish and drink my coffee while I am on the computer then get dressed and just tell myself "keep moving" til the housework is done. Then I can go shopping and come home to a fairly clean house. Good luck. :-)Stephanie
