Hello Everyone!! I just joined here yesterday and am just looking for some support and someone to be accountable to. My name is Destiny, I am 22, 5'2 and weigh 246 pounds. I have high blood pressure and an underactive thyroid. I am really hoping that if I lose all the weight I want to, I will be happy. My goal is to weigh 130 by next Christmas. If anyone has any good thoughts or suggestions or just want someone to talk to that'd be great.

Hi and welcome here, Destiny! You've set a reasonable goal there, and I wish you luck on it (:


You asked for suggestions, and the most important one I can give you is WATER! As if you haven't heard it before, but... WATER! If you're a regular soda drinker, cutting some (if not all) of that out and replacing it with WATER! will make a huge difference.


After water is exercise, even if it's just walking 20 mins a day three or four days a week.


Have you discussed options with your doctor? Are there any off-limits diets because of your blood pressure or thyroid? If you can afford it, a nutritionist might be a good idea considering those two problems.

Can't say more then the two important things already mentioned.....water and exercise...I guess I could say food portions, then more water...

What diet are you plannning on following?
