Can't vs. Incapable

I was working out with my group this weekend. They are doing a fantastic job. We got on the subject of people saying "I Can't". It was a very interesting topic.

The word can't is "whiny speech" on dictionary.com. The word incapable "is physically being unable to perform a task" Those are the definitions I found I am sure some of you may find others. But it got me thinking.

The word "can't" is over used as we discussed at the gym, we hear people say they can't diet during the holidays because it is "too hard" truthfully I find it difficult all the time to try and loose weight. In my office there are cookies, cakes, dinners, lunches, cocktails galore! I hear a lot of people say, I just CAN'T pass it up. But really we all CAN so people just choose not to.

I have decided to stay focused during the holidays, not make excuses because of what time of the year it is. I can find a special occasion in anything, so I would be making excuses all year long.

I have committed to stay OP during the holidays, because I can pass up the cookies, cakes and other goodies.

I have also decided that if I am actually incapable of doing something than I am sure I can come up with a way to find an alternative to get to what my goal is.

I am going away for the holidays and I could feel myself falling into excuse mode. I have a few things that I want to eat and I will while I am on vacation. Atlanta has Sonic and Waffle house two things I miss the most about the south. I will have both while I am there, but I will journal it and try to workout harder those days or save some of my points to allow for it. I will continue to work out, count, and journal. Watch what I eat and own my weight loss journey. I CAN do this and I know some of you guys CAN too.

I know for me the next 50 #s to loose are going to come off a lot slower than the first half of this has. I will have to try my hardest to see what I have accomplished and work harder to get to where I want to be.
