Hi Everyone,
So I found this board while on the south beach site. I totally realized last week that I had let myself slip. Last November I lost like 20 pounds on South Beach. And I felt great, but then warm weather snuck up and I stopped going to the gym and eating right. So It all came back, plus 20 more pounds! I am now at 249, the heaviest I have ever been. Also, I started dating a wonderful man.... and I would really like to lose some weight. I think I would just be more comfortable with a lot of things.... plus the fact that NOTHING fits me right.
SOOOOO, my question is what is everyone doing that has been working? I have a hard time staying on a strict diet, but really like seeing results. I love south beach, but I find myself on day 2 sneaking snacks, b/c the b/f lives with me and all of this great yummy food is around. I think today I am just having a hard time finding will power!!!!

Aha, another "NOTHING fits" chick! Nice motivation, isn't it? ;-)
I'm not too clear on what the South Beach consists of; it's a type of low-carb diet, isn't it? Those always seemed to give me a quick hit on the scale, but weren't something to live with long-term. I was really happy with Weight Watchers "Winning Points" system because it wasn't so strict, especially the variation where you alternated high/low end of your points range within a week. But everyone is different... and who says you have to stay with one plan until the end of time?
Re: Boyfriend and snacks, I found this trick accidently while superswamped at the office.
"Forget" to shop for a bit... if he hits the grocery store for you, what he brings back may be significantly less appealing that what you'd choose yourself. Or maybe this only works if you are as joyously mismatched as we are in my home...
Seriously, best of luck!
