I feel a bit weird giving my best advice/tip when one could say that *obviously* it hasn't "worked" for me, but I too have/had tried EVERYTHING and last year I started weight lifting and although for reasons to lengthy to blab about I quit, IT WAS AMAZING. Lifting weights will boost your metabolism (You do so have one! :) and make you strong. Best part? You don't have to (and shouldn't be anyway) starve yourself. You'll shrink inches (even when the scale isn't moving) and body aches/sore back etc go away. Also, it helps your skin not get all saggy as the pounds come off. WEIGHT LIFT. (If that scares you, check out Kathy Smith. She's not scary! :)
Good luck!

I agree with the poster who mentioned weightlifting. Exercise--both cardio and strength training--is crucial to boosting your metabolism and helping you lose weight. You'll feel good when you exercise regularly, too!
Having a good set of measuring cups/spoons so that you can count your calories is eye-opening. I didn't realize just how much I ate until I started adding it all up. Realizing what I was doing to myself was the first step in making a permanent change.
