You could just go by your measurements and your clothing.

Agree with Shawna on the measuring instead of getting on a scale.Scales vary all around and I have yet to find one that is accurate enough to give me consistant results. Not only that, but I too become obsessed, yet with measuring,I don't.Also, since muscle weighs more then fat,if you begin a fitness program that includes weights, you may see results better by measuring then weighing.

Hi, Jodi...

I wouldn't go crazy with an expensive scale; I got a fairly pricey digital one last year, and it STILL varies a lot! The whole number thing is so arbitrary anyway. The more sensible posters on this board are no doubt right, measurements and the fit of your clothes are better guidelines. (But I confess, I was a scale addict before, and will be again I'm sure. The big green numbers help keep me on track.)

I've been told that with any scale, you should always keep it in the same spot for more accurate readings. I generally took three readings anyway (in the morning, after a pee!); the second two were almost always identical and I used that as my "real" weight on a daily/weekly basis, until I visit my physician. Does that sound obsessive??????? Hmmm... I really do just use it as a guideline..... honest!
