Anyone have a hanging abdomen?

The medical term for this is an "apron", and it sure does resemble an apron. Does anyone have one and what do you plan to do about it when most or all of the excess weight is gone? Kristi :o) <><

I have one too.It wasn't so bad before my c-section,but I'm really hoping that it will shrink down enough on it's own when I lose more weight.Even if it's never completely gone,I wont go through surgery to correct it.

Oh, yes!
I never noticed it until I started regaining weight in the past few months, though. My plan is exercise. Ugh. But the surgery thing just isn't likely to happen here (too spooky, too expensive).
OK, Pilates is not that bad. And, I saw this exerciser-jabob on tv... no laying on the floor, supposedly works on all three major ab muscle groups... does anyone have experience with this?

Hey Stephanie,
Your post made me so happy. Surgery isn't an option for me and I was HOPING that by exercising, weight-lifting especially, the apron would go... I'm only 32 and carry most of my weight on my butt and legs so I will probably be lucky. YAY. And as for you, you can do it again!!!
Cheers,
C
Yeah, I've got that too. I hate it worse than any other part of my body *sigh*. I have no idea what will happen to it as I lose weight. I'm really hoping it will go away. If not I would definitely consider surgery if it was bothersome enough to me and I could get the money. One of my biggest fears is that I'll lose all the weight I want and still be sick at the sight of my body.

Yes, I have a huge "apron". After all the weight I have been losing, saddly, there is no change in that area. Having 3 children have left its mark on me. I plan on increasing my cardio and doing more exercises for that troubled area.
