Don't worry too much. From what I can remember, they blow up your abdomen with air or something. This allows them to get around and see inside you. I think you can have a pretty big stomach as gall bladder surgery is often done on overweight people. When you go to your doctor, tell him you want to see to it as soon as possible. I say this because a surgeon does the laproscopy not your "regular" doctor. Be very honest about your pain and discomfort and desire to get it done. My suregeon never indicated any concern about my weight. I think doctors are mostly interested in your health history and medications and allergies.
I had my gallbladder removed a few years ago. I had the outpatient prodcedure like many of the other ladies on the board. When the "attacks" first started occuring, I thought it was bad gas. But then I went to see the doctor and they told me it was my gallbladder. Toward the end, I was actually throwing up bile. It was so disgusting and such a painful time. Surgery was pretty much painless and I was out of work for a week. From what my doctor told me, it is common in overweight woman and the issues arise from eating fatty food. HTH!
