questions on weight loss patch

I hope I am doing this right. This is my first time to this board in about 3 or 4 years. Since then, I have put on even more weight. I need a board for 150lbs and over, lol. I really need to try again I just dont even know where to start anymore. I feel like I am totally clueless and lost. I have been dieting and loosing on and off for 20 years. Now that I am sooo morbidly obese, I'm scared. I know calories, fat, exercise, weight watchers, slim fast, body for life, nutrasystem, atkins, cabbage diet, grapefruit diet, etc... I am not uniformed, just a very low will power. Why do I want the taste of something and eat it until I feel like I am going to get sick? Why do I seriously stress and panic at the thought of REALLY changing my life style. I am literally scared to exercise, scared to not eat a meatball sandwich. I am not afraid that something will happen to me, I am afraid of losing the life I am comfortable with.

Well I guess I babbled enough before I actually asked the question I posted for, so hear it is: I heard about this diet patch. Has anyone tried it\? Did it work at all, at least to get a jump start?

Any advice on navigating this board in its current format?

I actually feel like crying! Your answers are very true. I know it up to me to actually make this choice and do it. But I think I need alot of hand holding and some one to be accountable to. Do you think I would annoy the people on the board too much? I am still trying to get the nerve up to say "I WILL do it"

You said: "Think of that meatball sandwich this way....not eating it right now doesnt mean that you can never have it again. Just right now you arent going to eat it. "..... In all my years I never thought of it this way! I think I can LIVE with that mantra!

Boy, is that familiar! Shawna's advice sounds really good though. A step at a time, rather than black/white do-or-die pronouncements (guilty!), seem to lead to success, if the ladies of this board are anything to go by.

As for the weight-loss patch, never knew there was such a thing! It reminds me of the nicotine patch line: "I tried 'em, but the darn things wouldn't stay lit!"
