Weight Loss Goals Idea

I just wanted to share my idea for trying to ensure that I meet my weight loss goals. It would be great if y'all would add what you're doing, too.

I sat down with my daytimer and wrote out my weight loss goals. Instead of just saying, I want to lose 100 pounds this year, or even I want to lose 2 pounds a week, I created a list of dates, the last Sunday of every month (I determine my weight for the week every Sunday), and wrote "benchmark goals."

Then I took a sheet of plain printer paper, got out my markers and blow pens and gel pens and created a paper that says in large print at the top, "Weight Loss Plan." Under that, I wrote, "Goal: Lose 100+ pounds during 2005." Under that, I wrote, "Benchmark Goals," and underlined it. I then listed the same thing I had listed in my daytimer, putting the dates in purple and the goals in red. Next to the goals for each month, I wrote, "Actual," so I can see if I'm on target. Laterally with "Benchmark Goals," I drew a smily face slash sad face so I can give myself a smily or sad face depending on whether or not I'm on target. At the very bottom, I wrote GO DREA!! (Drea is my nickname from my husband and his kids). Once I had done all this, I took the two blow pens I could find and blew ink all over so that it looks spackled. I then posted this in the living room next to the calendar, so I see it every day, several times a day.

What do you think? I'll let you know how well it works.

Sounds like a great idea to me!

You sound very creative :)

I think a daily reminder is the way to go.

I have my journal, it is pink and has Hello Kitty on it. I love her and always have, I journal everything from what I eat to what I do at the gym. I also keep a picture of myself when I started my weight loss plan. It reminds me of how far I have come.

I think its a great idea to set small goals and works towards those first. Great idea.!

Andrea that is a good idea.

My weight loss goals are simple. Sustain from "bad" fast foods, lower my calorie intake, lower my fat intake, lower my carb intake, exercise at least 4x a week and lose atleast 5lbs per month.

I think that is a super idea! When I sold Mary Kay they told us to post our goals and our dreams on paper and put them on the restroom mirror so that we could recite them while we brushed our teeth and cleansed our faces and put our makeup on....it really does work.

Also if there is an outfit near you that will make subliminal tapes you should try to do that if it not too expensive...I did that and accomplished my goals.

I now wish one of those goals had been to get serious about losing weight. But I was not that heavy then.

I think I am going to do you idea too!

Thanks!

Umm...I can scan it into my computer once I find my disc for my printer/scanner. I want to get a digital camera, but it's going to have to wait...
