How Many Calories...

... are you guys eating? I'm curious. I know that in my previous "journeys" I was getting 1200 - 1400 calories, and my weight loss slowed tremendously. Do you ever think that 1200 - 1400 may not be ENOUGH for a larger person? I mean, I've done the metabolic calculators, and I burn close to 3000 calories a day when I exercise. It made me think that my body was trying to hold on to any calories it consumed, thus I was not losing any weight. Anybody have any insight?

Tiffany,

I think for some people 1200 is not enough. It all depends on how much you weigh currently and what you are putting into your body.

If you are buring a lot of calories than you should increase your calories to give your metabolisim.

Can you give us an idea of your daily menu?

Thanks for the reply.

Currently, I'm trying to eat between 1500 and 1800 calories. Any less than that, and I'm ready to jump out the window!
Breakfast (early AM) is usually a Slim Fast Low Carb shake.
Mid morning I'll have turkey bacon and eggs or a bowl of Special K Low Carb Cereal w Skim Milk
Lunch is usually a Lean Cuisine with no more than 25 grams of carbs
Afternoon Snack (sometimes 2 snacks) - String cheese or lunch meat
Dinner - varies... That is the tricky part

I almost always come out to 1600 - 1700 cals. We'll see how I'm doing in a couple of weeks and then I guess I can make some adjustments.

"The cool thing about trying to lose weight is that you can change things if one thing isnt working. If you are losing good at your caloric intake right now, then keep doing it. You can tweek your intake as you need."

Great point! Thanks!
