I read this article today and I find it so biased…. That I felt like it was saying that the only way your really going to loose is to have WLS…. What do you guys think? Should we go and shoot the author? Lol

"A separate study in the journal - the longest look yet at the effects of stomach-stapling and other obesity surgery - found that the weight loss and the protection against diabetes that result are major and long-lasting."

What I want to know is how long they followed the WLS participants because WLS is still relatively new.

Yeah, I think it sounds skewed and pro WLS, like we can't possibly lose the weight. The article should've pointed out that it's not WLS that makes ANY difference... It's losing 23 percent of your original weight and keeping it off. WLS may help, but if the person can lose it without, they'll be healthier in the end--no risk of complications, no fiber that they can't eat, etc.

But hey, at the least the article was good food for thought. Heh, heh! :)
