headaches and dieting

I am not doing something right .. I started counting points on a serious note yesterday and since then I have had a horrible headache… I have suffered from migraines since I was a young kid so I more likely get them when I have any change in eating, sleeping, being out in the sun all day, stress levels, ect…. I know it is hard starting to diet but I cant handle headaches like this,… after I ate today I felt a tiny bit better but it didn’t last long…. I was so hungry I got sick to my stomach waiting for dinner to get done so I could leave for school…. I got the shakes… felt like I was going to pass out… I think my chicken could have cooked a bit longer but I had to leave and I had to eat.. My question is this…. Would it even help any if I started my plan off slow? Worked my way up to counting points for every meal.. I don’t want to be a failure at it but I think if I worried about fat free stuff, counting points ect for one meal and portion size for the rest then 2 meals then all meals ect… it would lessen my chance of horrible headaches and this feeling of complete sickness…. Im more worried that if I continue to have these headaches and I know going back to normal would stop them then I am doomed… any advice on this?

Are you eating right kinds of food? What if you have a small nutrious snack about an hr or 2 before Dinner, so you have something in your stomech. I get real hungry around 4, so I have a 1/2 of peanut butter sandwich in whole wheat, and then I will cut back on my bread in take for supper. I will then be satisfie to wait for supper.
I hope that this will help you

I have an article from Prevention magazine about a supplement called CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid), that in studies showed that people who took it while trying to lose weight suffered less headaches and stomach distress and in some also worked as an appetite suppressant. I am taking an Omega supplement (I don't eat seafood at all)that has CLA in it and I have noticed the difference since I started taking it almost a week ago...

She's talking about a vitamin supplement that has omega-3 (a good fatty acid found in fish and some leafy greens like spinach, a bit in eggs, and in walnuts.) It's believed that omega-3 can help in lowering the risk of cancer, and may be able to help in weight loss.

Then there's omega-6, another fatty acid (polyunsaturated fat, the good kind again.) This is a fat that most of us get quite enough of from our regular diet... grains, poultry, eggs, and yay! Peanut butter (:

Unfortunately, for the omegas to work, they have to work together and since most people don't get enough of the 3, the 6 kind of cancels out. So there are supplements to take care of the 3 for people who don't eat fish or who are vegetarians. But you can get quite a bit from eating tuna, unless you also don't eat that. Two servings a fish a week is thought to be "enough."

As for Wal-mart, just look at the supplements they have, omega-3 will be listed on something there I'm sure!

Yes, I got it at Wal-Mart. It is Spring Valley brand. I'm going to type what's on the label.

Spring Valley
Natural
Super Omega Complex
Fish, Flax, Borage Oil + CLA
Omega-3-6-9 Fatty Acids

When I read the article in Prevention Magazine, I read where you get Omega 6's and I don't eat enough of those types of food, either, so I'm going for the whole package plus the CLA. I couldn't believe my good fortune, finding a supplement that has all of it. I'm not vegetarian, either, but I don't eat a bunch of meat and when I do, I prefer steak and chicken. I rarely eat tuna, and even less will I consume any other animal that comes from water. I have never liked any type of sea food (other than tuna) and with the mercury alerts, I know that I had good reason. (ha,ha) Seriously though, the smell of seafood makes me sick, it's awful because my husband LOVES (if I had the ability that word would be bold and underlined) seafood.

Anyway, that's the supplement. I paid about $4 or $5 for the bottle of 60. It says you can take it up to three times daily, but I can't afford to take that many. I figure what I'm getting taking one is better than what I was getting before-NONE!!
