I'm a Newbie Here!!!

Hi everyone!!

Here is my tale. I was born weighing in at almost 10 lbs. I was never a thin child. During the summer before my senior year I cried and determined to lose weight. I started at 213; by the time school started I was at 195. By the end of senior year I was at 152!

I basically exercised, dranks lots of water and didn't eat much. I'd have maybe a candy bar for lunch; after school an apple and a piece of cheese. Dinner a slice of pizza and soda. I got down to 135.

Then gained it back over several years, marriage and kids.

SIGH!

I am now at 224 ( I just lost 2 lbs this past week).

Exercise is not a problem for me. I exercise about 5 times a week: Aerobics and strength training. Medium to high intensity. Drink lots of water.

I have lost weight going the low carb route, but that gets BOOORRRING!

These past two weeks I have watched my carbs, but not eliminated them entirely and I think that is helping.

According to the *charts* I should be at 125-150 range for my age and height.

Anyhoots, I hope I can give as well as get encouragement on this board.

Thanks for listening!!!

Happy Health everyone!

Thanks all!!

How have you guys lost weight?

I figure exercise will give me that boost, but it doesn't work!!! So I do it because I feel good afterward and know its good for me.

Welcome to our Boards....

As far as exercise goes I have always heard that you have to go above and beyond what you normally exercise to lose weight. But...I don't exercise very well so you will have to get that info from the pros here.

I do know the basic three is 1) Drink lots of water 2) exercise 3)portion control. Of course you have to eat healthy.

I am doing low carb and low fat (somewhat) I was on just Atkins and it was boring. But as I am learning how to cook what I can eat,...it becomes more easier...

My down fall is exercising and late night craving.

THERE IS POWER IN WORDS.... EVERYONE...I will lose 10 pounds before the month is out....

Hi and welcome here (: It sounds like you know what to do, but perhaps need some new exercise routines, and work on eating healthier foods and you'll continue on the right track. I'm doing low-fat and lower-carb and it seems to be working. Now I just need to get back on the water and exercise wagon!

Hi! I am new here too, so I wanted to welcome you :) I was 10 lbs at birth too, also weigh around 226, and also weighed 130 before getting married! I hope some of that exercise stamina rubs off on me :) Good luck with the rest of your journey!
