Hi I am new here. I would like to lose anywhere from 75 - 100 lbs. I had a baby 9 months ago and I just found out I have gout. I just read that gout can be caused by being overweight. I would really love to lose weight and enjoy a life with my son. I am his only parent and he needs me. I currently weigh 254 and would like to get down to 160. Any advise or diet buddies excepted.

Hi Jacobsmommy-

This is a great place to get started. Everyone here is very encouraging. How do you know you have gout? I thought I might have it, but had it checked by the doctor and she didn't say so. However my big toe is RED and the corner is really sore.

Welcome to our boards!

Didn't Gout use to be an old person's maliday? In any case you're in good hands here.

Hi and welcome to the board. My advice is to do body measurements along with your weighing caus there's been plenty of times i haven't lost any weight a week but i have inches.
Good luck with your weight loss and getting rid of the gout. I haven't been on the board in months but it always had a few wonderful women who were 'diet buddiers' with everyone, so just post and reply to others and become one too =)
