Hello again everyone. Well, I did it. I went to the weight training class, I was the largest person in there, I couldn't do the dips and my lunges left a lot to be desired...but, I am feeling well worked out today. I'll be going back on Thursday. Starting off at twice a week for 60 minute classes and three times a week walking 30 minutes.

If I can do it, then anyone can do it! If anyone has ever been intimidated to try a fitness class I encourage you to just walk in there, ask someone to help get you aquainted with the program. When I came into the class I asked a lady what weights I should be using and she helped me through the whole way. I thanked her, and now I'm on my way!

Good job Melanie!!

It's always fun to try something new (even if you're scared or intimidated at first). I tried a "NIA class" (it's kind of like dance - aerobics - kickboxing - and yoga all rolled into one..very free form with great music) like that once. Just went in, paid the day class fee, and then asked someone to show me what to do. I loved it and went back several more times. If it wasn't so far for me to drive, I'd probably go several times a week. Of course, I also tried rollerblading like that...just got some blades and then went and asked someone to show me how...and I did great for the first two hours and didn't fall....and then I fell. Took me several MRIs, two weeks on crutches, and three months of physical therapy to get over that one (injured a ligament in my knee). So, I'm a little more cautious about what I try now...but I still like trying new things. :)

Let us know how it goes!

That's awesome, Melanie! I'm so glad you discovered that there was "nothing to fear except fear itself!" It sounds like a FABULOUS class and like it will help you get in great shape. Have fun with it!
