you know, i really post these with the intention of getting on here every day that i work/am in the lab (i don't have internet at home), but somehow, life gets in the way (how dare life get in the way of my internet time bwahahahahaha!)
i met my step goal EARLY today. i had to go to the bank, and i took the bus down there, but the driver was a driver i don't like (he just is so NEGATIVE!) so i decided i'd walk back rather than ride with him and his negativity.
boy am i sore now, but i hit the step goal around 3:00!
i have to go get groceries before i go home, and now i don't feel guilty taking a cab home from the grocery store lol!

Ruthie, where do you live? I can't imagine having to take a cab or walk anywhere. Wait! I not trying to be stuck up or anything. I live in rual area county in Texas. Everything is at least a 30-minute car ride away. We have one Taxi. I don't think they come out here.
How much does it cost to ride a taxi?
I guess you could walk to town; but you'd have to be able to out run all the very big dogs that people in rual areas tend to have.
I kind of like the idea of being able to walk places. When I worked downtown Houston...I'd walk lots of places...no dogs...just bums trying to get a little action.
I have a suv...which we need when it floods out here. But I only allow my self about 20 dollars worth of gas a week...trying to conserve the fuel for everyone...don't want to be selfish.
Wish we had a subway....

hi sussie!
i live in lexington ky and the buses are pretty reliable...i use them most often, but when i go to a place like the grocery store where i have a lot to carry (especially if i'm going after work because i carry a backpack and a laptop) i usually take a cab home. from campus to home it's usually about a $6 ride...not too bad, and i don't do it that often.

I am not totally sure....but I think in Houston they have a basic charge of $5 or higher....

PS Still wish we had a subway.
