Howdy! Does anyone have some ideas for exercising when you have bad knees? My knees frequently dislocate (pop out and then pop right back in) and usually stay swollen and sore afterwards for a bit. I've had a couple of surgeries and physical therapy in the past, but it's just an ongoing thing that I've gotten used to for the most part. LOL! :-D
I've got 152 pounds to lose. I'm sure losing weight will help my knees, although I've had this knee problem since high school when I was much thinner.
Last night, I put on one of my favorite shows and marched in place while moving my arms, and it felt great doing that....but today, I dislocated my left knee again, so I'm thinking marching or dancing might not be the best form of exercise for me right now. LOL!
Any ideas? :-D

Most people I know do swimming until they lose a good amount of their weight - and even the entire time if they have a bad knee. I would suggest doing swimming!
I have a horrible knee, though I don't have transportation to a pool (and way too nervous about swimming in the one at my apartment complex, its all college students!) so I do workout videos which are mainly walking and slowly building up with toning/weightlifting exercises. It does hurt a lot at times with even the speed walking but I'm getting used to it (I injured my knee about 4-6 years ago). Bicycling is definitely the worst for me and may be for you as well. Stair climbing as well.
So overall I say to definitely do swimming, and try walking :)
I feel your pain....I have the same problem. My friend is getting a pool but I have to wait a couple of more weeks for it to cure. Then she is going to teach me how to swinm. I plan to do laps in her pool.
Wish me luck since I am afraid of the water.
