Water Question

Hi everyone,
I am a lurker on this board... I hope you don't mind if I butt in with a water-related question.
I strongly believe that drinking tons of water is beneficial in my weight loss journey. With that being said, I drink water all day long - about 4 liters per day. The weight is literally melting off of me, but I am concerned about my kidney function.
When I first started consuming this quantity of water, I was peeing CONSTANTLY. I couldn't go 30 minutes without running off to the ladies' room at work. As the days passed, the urge to pee has been slowing up. Now, in my 8-hour work day, I only need to pee twice!
Where is this water going?! I am certainly NOT retaining this water because the scale has been steadily going down and my pants are looser than ever. When I *do* go to the bathroom, my urine is completely clear. Why has the fluid output decreased so much? Has my bladder simply grown accustomed to holding larger amounts of fluid?
More importantly, has anyone here ever experienced this insane phenomenon? How can someone consume 4+ LITERS of water every day and only have to use the bathroom every few hours?
Thanks for your input!
P.S. - you ladies are quite the inspiration to me! You have no idea how much you have motivated me. :-)
Thanks again!

I would also like to know the answer to his question.

Hello there and welcome to the boards!
I also drink a lot of water, but I am also on a diuretic for high blood pressure. When I told my doctor that I felt I shoud be making more trips to the bathroom, he said that while the frequency hasn't changed, he would bet the 'volume' of urine has increased during each bathroom trip. When I really paid attention, I realized he was right. I wasn't going more often...but I was going more during each trip to the bathroom.
Do you think this is the case with you also? Maybe your body has adjusted to the volume of water you are taking in, and therefore you're not going as often...but just more during each trip?
Pat
I've been told that once your body has adjusted to being well hydrated, you don't have to urinate as frequently. I think this is normal and you are doing great ;-) I have never been able to reach this point :-(

Heck Fire!
Now I am going to have to go and buy a stop watch to time myself!

Hi!
I'm new to this board and I clicked in on the water conversation but really clued into your phrase "melting off me"
If you don't mind a little cross talk- what are you doing to lose weight?
I'd love to know what's working for you.
Thanks!
