Starting all over again

Well, I stepped on the scale today in the first time for a while, and I weighed the most I have ever weighed in my life without being pregnant. Actually, I'm pretty darn close to my 9 months pregnancy weight, and that in itself is scary. I lost 50 pounds a couple of years ago, but then I moved to a new state to live with my boyfriend (husband now) who has entirely different eating habits than I have ever had. I gained back the 50 pounds plus an extra 20 just to really rub it in.

So today was the last straw. I just got married at this weight. Now I have plans to go to my new sister-in-law's wedding in England in August, and I refuse to look this way for another wedding.

I don't know what diet to try at this point, because I really don't like eating meat, and I love carbs so it seems Atkins is out. I tried Weight Watchers before, and that's how I lost so much, but I don't know if that is the best option again. I even tried exercising for 2 hours a day and lost not even a pound. Any advice and support is much appreciated.

By the way, I'm apparently defective. How on earth do you post those little weight tracker pictures on here? No matter which code I tried, it still showed as text. Thanks :)

Welcome Michelle and congratulations on your marriage. (I did read correctly that you just got married?) I have started over so many times and each time I curse myself for letting myself gain the weight again. If your read diet success stories many of them will tell you that they just kept trying. I know several people are doing weight watchers and have a lot of luck. I am doing my own thing of low fat and good carbs like whole grains and lots of fruits and vegi's. Good luck with what ever you decide to do. sharla

Welcome to the board. I am doing low carb (see Low Carb diets for Dummies) and I am a carboholic. I love BREAD PRODUCTS. Unfortunately this is what puts the pounds on me.

Currently I am thinking about going WW. Have not made up my mind yet.

Check it out and let us know which diet you finally end up following.

Oh, I didn't realize there was a package to buy! Shows how much I was paying attention, doesn't it? :)

Sharla, I married a man from Britain. We did a small civil ceremony in September and then a formal family wedding in November, so yes, you read correctly :) Unfortunately, in spite of working out for two hours a day for a couple of months before the wedding, I was still at nearly the weight I am now. It's time to try a new approach, obviously :) The support on these boards is wonderful.
